Kyana Packaging & Industrial Supply has purchased an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for use in our facility.
This purchase was prompted by the troubling statistic that over 400,000 Americans a year die of cardiac arrest.
The promising news is that chances of survival are greatly enhanced through the proper use of CPR (Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation) used in conjunction with an AED. Seventeen members of Kyana Packaging & Industrial Supply's staff
and their families took a two night course on September 18-19, 2002, to learn Adult CPR and were trained in the use
of the AED in an emergency situation. While we pray that we won't need our new skills, we feel that we have a staff
that will be well prepared if they are confronted with a victim in cardiac distress. If the emergency occurs while at
work at Kyana Packaging & Industrial Supply, we are ready to respond with our AED, to maximize our chances of success.
