and Kyana Industrial Supply participated in the 2001 National Houseboat Expo. Featured products were 3M Thinsulate™
Acoustic Insulation, 3M Accentrim™ Products for glass and 3M Refinish, Repair and Maintenance Systems. The Expo seemed
to be well attended and those who came, seemed to enjoy the experience.
3M and Kyana Industrial Supply hosted a booth together. The booth was serviced by Jack Griggs, Kevin Johnson, Vallen
Beckers and David White of Kyana Industrial Supply; and Dale Good, the 3M Technical Service Specialist, Insulation
Products.
One of the 3M products our booth highlighted was 3M Thinsulate™. Visitors to the 3M Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation
Demonstration Room typically saw a measured 15-20 decibel reduction in the ambient noise level. Many questions were
asked: Does it have any thermal insulation properties? Yes, 3M Thinsulate™ typically has an R value of 6-7.
How does it react when wet? 3M Thinsulate™ is hydrophobic, which means that it won't absorb water like other insulation
materials. Mold & mildew never enter the picture, so allergy sufferers, rejoice!

Sumerset Houseboats had one boat on display with the 3M Thinsulate™ installed, giving visitors the chance to see the
true application of the product.
The 3M Accentrim™ tape drew a continuous crowd. This unique product allows the user to have the look of beveled glass,
without the expense, and you can do this up-grade yourself!
